What Are You Chasing?

Our reliance on the external world is natural until we allow it to rule us and overshadow our lives.

That’s when the chase begins. That is when the “I gotta have it” mindset takes over.  Over dependency on people, conditions and things can easily result in dysfunctional relationships and addictions. As the drama heightens, the farther down you go. The trap of the material world can be very painful and is the cause of much needless suffering.

It is only by letting go, one moment at a time, of your fierce dependency on the external world, that you will find lasting peace of mind.

It’s only by going within, where there are no physical props, that you will find security. It’s only by letting go, one by one, of beliefs that conflict with your true desires that you will begin to rise above your limitations.

The act of letting go will help to loosen the tentacles of life’s emotional storms.

You can then experience a newly formed and welcomed level of detachment. What used to bother you will lose its power as your perspective of life begins to change.

Letting go takes you into the stillness of life. The place where you feel silence. The workshop where you are prepared for your next step and intuitively sense it.

“When I run after what I think I want, my days are a furnace of stress and anxiety; if I sit in my own place of patience, what I need flows to me, and without pain. From this I understand that what I want also wants me, is looking for me and attracting me.” ~ Rumi
